What's New This Month?
Summer hours for 2017 will begin Monday, June 5, and run through July 30. Managers and supervisors will have the discretion, depending on business requirements, to allow employees to work a more flexible schedule over the summer.
• Supervisor A – Employees can work four 10-hour days and have Fridays off.
• Supervisor B – Employees can work a few extra hours on Monday through Thursday and work a half-day on Fridays. Specific hours will depend on business requirements for each office and department.
• Supervisor C – Work load dictates that flexibility cannot be accommodated at this time. Employees will work their regularly scheduled Monday through Friday hours. If circumstances change, then the option of flexible work hours may be exercised.
Any combination of the three scenarios above can be implemented.
Over the July 4 holiday, it may be necessary for some employees to work the previous Friday in order to obtain their normal total hours for the week. Please keep in mind the College will be closed on July 3 and 4.
If a non-exempt employee (hourly) utilizes any vacation, sick or personal time during summer hours, the amount of time charged will be what they would have worked. For example, if a day is taken under the example of Supervisor A listed above, the number of hours charged to the employee would be 10.
