General Information

The Health and Wellness Center provides a clinic where students may report to the nurse for limited routine services.  The nurse is available to provide instruction and education on a broad range of student needs. The college nurse provides first aid and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. Services offered at the Health Center are free for all students who have completed the required student health information form.  Students are encouraged to participate in their own health care.  Health promotion activities, such as the Health and Wellness Fair, are held throughout the school year.

There are various physicians' offices and urgent care centers near Wilson College.  The nurse can provide contact information for these offices for all non-emergent issues that need to be seen by a physician.  All emergencies are referred to the Emergency Department.

The confidentiality of each student’s health record is strictly maintained in accordance with the law and ethical standards of practice.  Information is not released or disclosed to any person without the student’s written consent except in certain situations required by law.  Written consent is obtained from the student by having him or her complete and sign the Authorization for Release of Information Form.

Beginning July 1, 2012, Wilson College became a smoke-free campus.

Information pamphlets on smoking cessation are available in the Wellness Center.
