Pennewill Picked as Next Men's and Women's Volleyball Coach

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Wilson College Director of Athletics Lori Frey has announced the hiring of Katie Pennewill to serve as the next head coach of the men's and women's volleyball programs. Pennewill comes to Wilson after her most recent stint as head coach of the East Coast Power travel volleyball team. Previously, she served as an assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where she played a key role in the programs success. In addition to her coaching duties, Pennewill will also serve as the athletic department's Director of Operations.

Williams Tabbed As New Pep Band Director

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wilson College Director of Athletics Lori Frey has announced the hiring of Andrew Williams as the new Director of the Pep Band. Williams most recently served as Director of Bands at East Pennsboro High school where he conducted the Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion Ensemble and various small ensembles.

Harris Takes Over Women's Soccer Program

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wilson College Director of Athletics Lori Frey has announced that Terrance Harris has been named the interim head coach of the women's soccer program. Harris most recently served as an assistant coach with the program during the 2019 spring season.

CSAC ANNOUNCES 2018-19 WINTER/SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

ROSEMONT, Pa.- The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) announced the 2018-2019 All-Academic team, which included 34 Wilson College student-athletes. In order to be selected, student-athletes must achieve a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during their semester of competition, while using a full season of eligibility as determined by the NCAA. The CSAC named a total of 472 student-athletes to the list. Seven of the nine core members had over 40 percent of thie rosters named to the All-Academic team.

Barbieri Named Women's Lacrosse Coach

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wilson College Director of Athletics Lori Frey has announced the hiring of Emily Barbieri as the Head Women's Lacrosse coach. Barbieri comes to Wilson after serving as the assistant coach and offensive coordinator at Hood College since 2015. She is also the founder of the Atlantic Coast Lacrosse Academy and is the director of the Maryland Lacrosse showcase.

ERIE, Pa. - The Wilson College baseball team capped off a fantastic inaugural season with an appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship semi-finals this afternoon in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Phoenix (21-13) fell to the top seeded Pfeiffer University Falcons (29-8) by a final score of 10-2 on the campus of Penn State Behrend, which served as the host for the championships.

DANBURY, Conn. - The Wilson College baseball team has earned a spot in the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Baseball Championship. The Phoenix (20-12) will enter the tournament as the #4 seed and will host #5 seed Penn State Altoona (28-16) at Henninger Field on Wednesday, May 8 at 3:00 p.m. The winner of the first-round game will advance to play No. 1 Pfeiffer University (28-8). Weekend hosts No. 2 Penn State Behrend (24-16) will square off against No. 3 Grove City College (27-15). The Championship game will be played on Sunday May 19.

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The historic season for the Wilson College softball team came to a close in the NCAA Crestview Hills, Kentucky regional. The Phoenix (27-8-2) were defeated by the Dickinson College Red Devils (25-16) by a final score of 8-2. This season marked the first ever appearance in the NCAA championships for the Phoenix.

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Wilson College softball team took to the road where they faced the twelfth ranked Saints of Thomas More University in the opening round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Regional Championship. The Phoenix (27-7-2, 14-0 CSAC) were defeated by the Saints (33-9) by a score of 7-0.

Baseball Bows Out of Post-Season

LANGHORNE, Pa. - The inaugural season for the Wilson College baseball team has been outstanding and has exceeded expectations. The first year program with a roster of mostly freshman earned a spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championships and hit the road for their first post-season game this afternoon at Cairn University. The Highlanders (20-20) came from behind to top the Phoenix (20-12) by a final score of 6-4.

ROSEMONT, Pa.-  The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2019 Baseball End of Year Awards. Wilson, a first-year program, saw five players land spots on the All-Conference teams. Freshman Hunter Cheek (San Antonio, Texas, Smithson Valley) was the only Phoenix player named to the first-team. Freshmen Kevin Ehrman (York, Pa., Central York) and Nick Quinn (Odenton, Md., St. Mary's) were both selected to the second-team while Juan Rosario (Hollywood, Fla., Hollywood Hills) and Zach Sutherland (Lumberton, N.J., Rancocas Valley) earned honorable mention honors.

Softball Headed to Kentucky for NCAA First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Wilson College softball team will head to Crestview Hills, Kentucky for their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships on May 10-12. Four teams will compete at 14 regional sites and three teams will compete at two regional sites. The team advancing from each regional will compete in the super regional round May 17 and 18. The finals, hosted by Texas-Tyler, will be held May 23-28 at Suddenlink Field in Tyler, Texas.  All rounds will use a double-elimination format.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Phoenix baseball team took on the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge this afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Phoenix (20-11, 9-6 CSAC) captured two victories today as they swept the Patriots (6-25, 1-14 CSAC) by scores of 10-0 and 16-2.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College softball team resumed play in the 2019 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) softball championship. The Phoenix (27-6-2) played two games against the Falcons of Cedar Crest College (19-24) and beat them both times by scores of 5-4 and 9-4. Wilson completed the sweep of the championship and was crowned as the new 2019 CSAC softball champions!

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Wilson College softball team got set to play in the opening rounds of the 2019 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) softball championship, that took place earlier today. The Phoenix (25-7-2) took down the Cyclones of Centenary University by a score of 2-0 in the opener and was delayed in the top of the fourth inning of the nightcap against Cedar Crest College with the score 3-0 in favor of the Falcons.

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Wilson College junior pitcher Megan Potter (Hagerstown, Md., South Hagerstown) has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Pitcher of the Week. Potter threw the first perfect game in program history in an 8-0 win over Cedar Crest. For the week she went 5-0 in CSAC play allowing just 6 runs in 28 innings of work. For the season Potter stands at 17-3 with a 1.86 earned run average in 131.2 innings pitched. She has struck out 177 hitters while walking just 12.
